Salt Mines

Download | Duration: 00:42:04

The next time you use rock salt to make homemade ice cream or sprinkle table salt on your food, think about the workers in the mines that brought it to your pantry and your table. Salt mining is hard work and can be very dangerous to the miner's health. Much like coal mining, the workers have to dig very deep and work very hard to extract the salt from the earth. The church has a similar problem. It is rich with believers, the ones Jesus described as the salt of the earth. But due to traditional thinking, confused priorities, and self interest, much of the "salt" remains unmined and the world has less light. In the message, "Salt Mines", we will look at what it means for the believer to be salt, what it means for the church to be missional, and see if we can inspire one another to get the salt out where it belongs.
